RCom Announces Migration Plans for CDMA-to-4G, Phase I Launch in 9 Circles Only



Anil Ambani headed Reliance Communications (RCOM) has announced its migration plans for the CDMA subscribers who will be migrated to RCOM's 4G/LTE network once it's commercially launched.

Note that Reliance will use its CDMA spectrum (i.e. 850MHz band) for LTE-FDD roll out. That will be first LTE800 network in India.

In Phase I, RCOM will launch LTE800 in 9 circles. Including three metros (Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai) RCom will launch LTE800 in Gujarat, Andra & Telengana, Maharastra & Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh West and East.






Existing Reliance CDMA Voice / Datacard customers can get their 4G SIM from nearest Reliance Store. Upgrade to 4G & get FREE 10GB 4G data post upgrading to 4G.

Reliance Mobile Postpaid


  • From your existing CDMA SIM, SMS 4G < space >19 digit SIM number of the new 4G SIM to 1299.
  • Alternatively, you can also call on 1299 from your CDMA mobile and enter your new 19-digit 4G SIM number. You will get a confirmation SMS about your 4G SIM upgrade.

Reliance Mobile Prepaid

  • Recharge your existing CDMA connection with the 4G upgrade recharge. To know the upgrade recharge value please check the pic below .

  • After recharging, from your existing CDMA SIM, SMS 4G < space > 19 digit SIM number of the new 4G SIM to 1299.
  • Alternatively, you can also call on 1299 from your CDMA mobile and enter your new 19-digit 4G SIM number. You will get a confirmation SMS about your 4G SIM upgrade.

Reliance Datacard

For prepaid datacard , recharge your existing CDMA connection with the 4G upgrade recharge. To know the upgrade recharge value please see the pic.




For prepaid datacard after recharging & postpaid datacard, please follow the following steps


  • Plug your Reliance data card in the desktop port & click on "Upgrade to 4G" banner on the customer landing page, or type http://www.reliancenetconnect.co.in/ in your browser address bar and click on the banner.


  • In the "Upgrade to 4G" form , enter your existing Reliance Datacard number , if your number does not appear automatically. Proceed to fill your 4G SIM number & key details like alternate mobile number.
  • Generate OTP to complete verification process.
  • Process to get your new 4G Datacard. Your 4G Datacard will be shipped to your address.
  • Your upgrade to 4G is now complete.


48 hours prior to the date of launch, you will receive an SMS on your alternate mobile number to start using your 4G SIM.
